"We spent a few nights at the Fundy Woods campground and it was a great time. Very friendly service, clean facilities and very quiet environment. The wooded area really differentiates from the other sites in the area. Would definitely recommend to everybody that is looking for a quiet stay in St. Martins!"

"We loved Fundy Woods. The owner personally ensures that you are happy with your site. The campground is very quiet and the sites are spacious. You feel like you are in a forest yet you are only 5 minutes from all the sights and activities that St. Martins has to offer!"

“The campground was clean and spacious with a beautiful view of Fundy Bay. There was mature trees and the natural vegetation throughout the whole campground amongst the sites making it a peaceful place to relax and walk. The restrooms and showers were modern and very clean. Hope to be back.”
Rules & FAQs
At Fundy Woods, we’re all about making sure everyone has a safe, relaxing, and fun time during their stay. To keep things running smoothly, we ask that all campers follow these rules, keeping courtesy and good vibes in mind!
Anything I need to know about getting to Fundy Woods?
We’re working on adding more signage, but the main thing to know about getting here is that it’s different whether you’re coming from Saint John or Sussex. Be careful with GPS, as it sometimes will try to take you on dirt roads! There are also many areas without cell service on the way here, so load up your directions while you have a signal!
Simply put, there are 2 main ways to get to Fundy Woods, but they both involve Route 111 AKA Highway 111. Coming off NB’s main highways, you would take either the Route 111 West exit at Sussex for Sussex Corner, or the Route 111 East exit for the Saint John Airport in Saint John.
Coming from Saint John, take Route 111 East once you get to the Saint John Airport (Directions here). When you arrive in St. Martins (about 20 minutes from the airport), go straight past the XTR Gas Station (the Post Office will be on your left, Spinney’s Seafood on your right) instead of turning down Main Street. Look for the Fundy Woods signs on your right, just about 1km from that intersection.
Coming from Sussex, take Route 111 West starting at Sussex Corner (Directions here). It’s a windy drive, so take your time. Shortly after you pass the signage for “St. Martins North” you’ll head down a very large, fairly steep hill. We’ll be about 3km past the bottom of the hill. Look for the Fundy Woods sign on your left.

How do I get to Main Street in the village?
If you fancy a scenic walk, we’ve been building (and continue to add to) a nature trail that runs from the campground down to Main Street. From there you can access all that the village has to offer such as beaches, convenience stores, restaurants, gift shops, bars and more!
If you’re driving, just turn left out of the campground and then turn left again by the XTR convenience store to drive straight down Main Street.

Does Fundy-St. Martins hold any special events during the Summer?
Oh yes! Whether you want to come when the village is jam-packed full of activities or you’d rather plan around them to savour the most peace and quiet, there are 2 really big dates to consider when booking your trip. Although St. Martins is bustling all summer long, the first big event is St. Martins Old Home Week in July. The second is the Fundy Sea Shanty Festival in August. Click the links to confirm the dates, as they change yearly. BONUS: During the Fundy Sea Shanty Festival, you can catch a free shuttle service that runs up and down Main Street all weekend long! It stops right here at the campground.

Any must-sees in town?
Is there ever! On Main Street, you’ll want to visit Beach Street for the panoramic ocean views, the bustling Harbour area full of shops and fishing boats, and don’t miss the world-famous Caves. A short 5-10 minutes drive away, you’ll find the stunning scenery of the Fundy Trail Provincial Park where you can drive, hike, or bike to your heart’s content (park admission applies).

Where can I get something to eat?
There are a variety of restaurants in the village! The best place to get an up-to-date list is here: https://www.stmartinscanada.com/food-beverage. We will tell you that fan favourites around here include Spinney’s Seafood for their award-winning lobster rolls and The Caves Restaurant’s world-famous chowder. If you’re looking for a delicious (and locally-sourced!) charcuterie board with a delicious beer or bevy, definitely check out Old Molly’s Bar. Want to barbecue at the campsite? Drop down to Huttges General Store for fresh-cut specialty meat products. Feel like a cool treat on a hot day? Try Octopus Ice Cream.

What’s in the bunkies?
The bunkies have mattresses with bed protectors and a fitted sheet, but no pillows or bedding. Bunkie 1 sleeps two people in a loft bed, and bunkies 2, 3 and 4 sleep four people with a bed downstairs plus a loft bed. There is no plumbing inside, but you’ll have access to water through an outdoor sink and counter, and you have use of our washroom and shower facilities during your stay. They do have lights and heaters too, plus access to electricity. You’ve got your picnic table and fire pit outside as well, just like all of our sites.

Can you tell me about bunkie etiquette?
The bunkies are pet-friendly but we do charge a small pet fee to help with cleanup instead of putting a cleaning fee in place for everyone. To keep the bunkies affordable and avoid implementing cleaning fees, we do ask that all campers dispose of their garbage and tidy up any messes before you check out. Slippers or indoor shoes are a great idea to keep the bunkie clean as well!

Got any tips on what to bring?
For sleeping, you’ll need sleeping bags or blankets, pillows, and toiletries. For mealtime, bring your food, drinks, dishes, eating/cooking utensils, and a cooler. If you’re not cooking over the firepit, bring along your camping stove and other cooking equipment. And, of course, matches or lighters to light the campfire! Anything else you bring is up to you!

Do you allow pets?
For the most part, yes! There are a few exceptions - and a few rules. All of our bunkies and campsites are pet-friendly, as are 2 out of our 3 cottages.

What do I need to know before I bring my furry friend camping?
For our bunkies and cottages, there is a $15 fee to cover the cleaning costs associated with having pets in our roofed accommodations, with $5 per each additional pet. The number one rule is to properly clean up after your pet, no matter where you are in the campground. We’ve got plenty of receptacles for their “business bags” ;) If you’re out on our nature trail, please bring it back and toss it in the bin. All pets must also be kept on a leash at all times.

Can I leave my pet while I’m out?
We love pets around here (you may even get to meet Leo or Woody!), but we don’t want them to be left alone when you set off on your day’s adventures, especially if they are prone to separation anxiety and barking. Please try to take your pets on your adventures with you, and be considerate of your fellow campers. We’ve had pets left alone barking and crying for considerable lengths of time with no way to reach out to their owners in the past. That can be heartbreaking, but also disruptive to our campers who come in search of peace and tranquility.

Any rules around campfires?
Fire safety is a priority on our property and all campfires must be contained to the fire pit provided at your campsite. Any other fire pits must be approved in advance by Fundy Woods staff. We will advise and expect our campers to follow all local fire bans where applicable. You can find the latest information here: New Brunswick Forest Fire Watch

Is smoking allowed?
Smoking (including tobacco and cannabis) is allowed ONLY at your own campsite, and never inside our bunkies or cottages. Please ensure all cigarettes are properly extinguished and not disposed of on the ground. This is especially important as we are a wooded wilderness property. There is no smoking in common areas nor at the entrance of a common area.

Do you have a store with supplies, snacks, marshmallows, and stuff?
We don’t have a fully-stocked general store yet, but we have a small comfort station in the office that sells firewood, Fundy Woods stickers and a couple of other items. All of the amenities that the village has to offer are just a minute or two away, though. Read about them in the “Around Town” section!

What are your “Quiet Time” rules?
Campers are expected to consider their neighbors at all times, but we start quiet time at 11:00 pm. We’re big fans of the starry nights around here too, so please turn off any bright or flashing lights. Your smaller outdoor lights (like your porch light) are fine, and hanging out quietly around the campfire is cool too. Respect your neighbours, always…but especially after 11. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by their parents after dark.

Can I have visitors?
All guests must register with the campground office. Please keep in mind that our campers are responsible for their visitors. All visitors that are not registered through the Fundy Woods booking system, must be registered on the sign-in sheet in the office upon arrival. A fee of $5 per vehicle will be applied for visiting, and if someone is staying overnight, a $10 per person fee will be applied in addition to the $5 vehicle fee.

How’s the water?
Actually, our water is amazing! 100% potable well water, and it runs through an extra safety measure with UV protectant. You won’t even need bottled water, and ask Matt about the sink closest to the well - it’s super cold and refreshing - perfect for filling up your water bottle before a walk.

Tell me about the bathrooms and showers.
We’ve got everything you need to clean up. Our campground facilities include 7 toilets, 5 showers, and even a family room with a shower too, so you can keep your kiddos contained while you get everyone cleaned up. The family room is also a wheelchair-accessible area.
We just ask our guests to be environmentally-conscious when it comes to the facilities, including being mindful of water consumption and also limiting the paper products that enter our rural septic system. If you don’t absolutely need to flush something, please put it in the garbage can instead (there’s one in every stall).

How’s the Wifi?
We’ve got wi-fi throughout the campground. We are still working on perfecting and fine-tuning it, but we’ve got repeaters on every building all over the property. You shouldn’t have any trouble checking emails, browsing social media, or researching your next adventure.

Are you ATV-Friendly?
We are actually perfectly situated for ATV enthusiasts, being off the beaten path of Main Street helps too. There is a large network of scenic managed trails that you can access just a few minutes from the campground. Do keep in mind that the Village of Fundy-St. Martins does not currently allow main road access so you may have to float your vehicle to the trailhead. You may also need to purchase a trail pass through QuadNB, and you can also find trail information/maps on their website at https://quadnb.ca/

What about parking?
We have room for one RV or camper and one additional registered vehicle per campsite. Extra vehicles and visiting vehicles must be parked in our overflow parking lot. Campers are also expected to adhere to a 10 km/hr speed limit at all times.
